Al-Qirkat, also known as Alquerque, is a medieval strategy board game originating in the Middle East and brought to Europe by the Moors. It was first documented in the 10th century and is thought to be the ancestor of modern checkers (draughts) and Fanorona. Our handmade set has a 9” square linen/cotton blend canvas board, glass tokens (12 each of black and white), a small cotton bag for the pieces, instructions, and a cotton drawstring bag to carry the set in your pocket or bag.
